Purpose -- The Key to Achieving Your Goals

It's that time again when so many people set lofty goals. But, by the end of the month, most people get off course. Here is one major reason why this happens.

First let me share a couple of definitions:

Goal -- the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; end

In a nutshell it is the finish line.

Purpose -- the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used.

In a nutshell it is why you are here on this earth.

Knowing your purpose (or your "Why" as we say in Mentoring for Free) will keep you on course until you reach the finish line. When you start with this end in mind, it will drive you, it will motivate you, it will keep you in your lane, it will keep you on target, and it will keep you from quitting. You will direct ALL your time, energyy, effort and resources towards it attainment.

Knowing purpose is vital in network marketing. With so many businesses, with so many systems, with so many lies and hype, there is a tendency to lose focus. You become indecisive. But, with determination and committment, you will keep your focus. As Lou Holtz said "Decisions are easy when you know your purpose." Why, because every decision you make will be in align with purpose. So, if it keeps you moving in the direction of the goal, the aim, the end, do it. If not, DON'T.

Have you ever thought about why you do what you do?. When you know your purpose, you will have a goal and everything you do will have that goal (or the end) in mind. You will eliminate any and every distraction which attempts to pull you off course. Not knowing purpose is the major reason most people live aimlessly. Don't let that be you.

One final thought, when you know your purpose, whatever you do won't seem like work. Although not necessarily easy, it will be fun, exciting and quite rewarding.

Be empowered to prosper!

P. S. If you have never figured out your purpose, Chapter 2 in Success in 10 Steps, can help you figure it out. Think about taking the time to write out your 'purpose' - the reason you are here. Find the 'Why' that will make you cry.
