Are You Acknowledging Your Positive Past?

I receive messages from Jack Canfield and I'd like to share one of his success principles which is "Acknowledge Your Positive Past."

Jack stated that research repeatedly shows if you acknowledge your past successes, the more confident you'll become in taking on new challenges and successfully accomplishing them because that is what successful people do. He further stated that successful people seek out and accept new opportunities for advancement because they have confidence of a lifetime of much smaller achievements.

End of Jack's message and beginning of my thoughts.

That is exactly what David the shepherd boy did. He acknowledged he had slain the lion and bear. That gave him confidence when the opportunity came to take on Goliath. He knew without a doubt he would be victorious because of his past victories. Acknowledging our positive past will also give us the confidence to take on our goliaths. When faced with new opportunities, we won't be overwhelmed by the challenge. We'll have our positive past as reminders that we are more than able.

So make a list of your past successes -- no matter how insignificant they seem. When you think about it, you'll find out you have more successes than you realize. Then you can say what Grandma Moses said "I look back on my life like a good day's work; it is done and I am satisfied with it."

And, remember this: whatever you focus on will determine the direction your life will go.

Be empowered to prosper!
